Plato On Play


This is a far cry for advocating for Platocracy as The Republic till this day has left a bad taste in my mouth and made the hair on my neck stand on end as I read. But for the sake of this article, Plato did get something right. The Greek Geek knows a bit about play.

“A child must be happy, free from sorrow and pain as far as its childish desires permit…From three to six years of age children should be absorbed in play, in games of their own devising…”
